TR6 TR6 Overdrive Wiring.

We spent the day following the schematic diagram on my 1974 TR6; . We believe we did a pretty good job but we have a problem. On the schematic it shows that there is one yellow and green wire running into the interlock switch and one wire running out , yellow and purple. On the harness we are using we have two wires that align with the interlock switch both are yellow and green running in and two wires run out, both yellow and purple . We can use one set running in and out and this would agree with the schematic , what do we do with the other set ?

I would want to hunt down the other ends of the extra wires; or at least double-check that both YG and both YP are linked together. If they do show continuity, then you could just insulate the extra wires and ignore them.

But if not, then choosing two at random will probably leave the OD non-operational. You need to find the YG that gets connected to the operating switch, and the YP that leads to the OD solenoid.

Looking at the schematic for the earlier tr250 , 1970 and 1971, they used two interlock switches....probably for the Type A O/D. I'm going to bet that your harness included wires for both the Type J O/D which uses one interlock and the Type A. Just use one set and you should be OK....As Randall said above, make sure you follow the one set of wires to both the interlock and to the solenoid.
