TR6 TR6 mystery wires

Hi all! I'm glad to have found this site where I can benefit from some of the more experienced owners out there. I bought a 'mostly' restored 71' TR6 August of '02. It was nicely done and has been a lot of fun. I'm still tying up some of the loose ends (literally). I've got some mystery wires under the driver side dash that are purple and purple and orange (and one green and black). There are also purple and orange wires in my fuel tank area which I'm pretty sure are for the tunnel courtesy light. I can't find purple/orange wires listed on any wiring diagrams. Is this a PO makeshift fix, is my harness swapped from a mystery car (everything else seems to be in order), or am I overlooking the obvious?

Okay, no sooner do I submit my post than I find my answer on BritishV8.org! Answer: ignition key warning circuit and key illumitation lamp. Bob's yer uncle!

Hey, thanks for your help John Mc!

Howdy John. Have any pictures of your 6? Happy you could figure out your wiring problem with our sage advice. Its good to have another Triumph owner aboard.

Hello John,
Purple\orange is for for aerial down, and there should be a corresponding purple\slate for aerial lift up. Green\Black should be your fuel gauge sender wire.
Ignition warning light is white from the ignition switch and brown\yellow from the alternator. Any illumination wires should be red\white or red\purple.

Alec
