TR6 TR6 Manifold gasket help

Hi all. Finally took the manifold off and was able to disconnect the downpipe. I have a brand new manifold and downnpipe gaskets from Moss. For both of them, does a certain side face out/up?

And would any of you advise Permatex Copper Spray or just torque the bolts/nuts properly?
 
I don’t think there is a particular orientation to the gaskets if they aren’t marked and I have never used copper spray on mine…
