74 TR6 after market horn adapter and button....how do I wire this? I know the horn sounds when grounded, but where do I ground this new arrangement to?

Some photos might help. Usually, the ground is through the shaft and steering wheel hub. The hub carries a brush that bears against a slip ring, which doesn't move and is wired to the horn relay.

Had a '74, and used Fiamm(?) aftermarket hi/lo horns. i wired them up as per factory, using the in-place wiring, and they still didn't work. Realized the original horn plunger had lost its contact ground. New horn plunger, and toot toot!
