1st 5 yrs never took my hardtop off liked the look/sound now on Sept-Mar ragtop/topless Apr-Sept. Tried several hoisting methods rope/pulley then chain fall each presented their own set of issues 1-2 hr job removing/hoisting mounted electric hoist to ceiling connected via u-bolts to 12 ft long unistrut crossing 4 ceiling joist) 1/2 hr connecting/removing/hoisting probably should have mounted hoist on floor & pulley attachment above TR to hold hardtop but I'm good to go. Couple years ago 3 day car event 2 hrs from house stayed home vs motel there one day with hardtop drove home returned next day with ragtop doubt I would've had the energy or desire without hoist
Installed over 15 yrs ago has automatic load-holding brake got it at harbor freight hardtop may weigh 100 lbs so rated weight capacity can be small, see they got 'em with wireless remotes now vs the plug in version I have.
Black aluminum lifting device u-shaped black web material side-side with another piece connected at center wrapping around bottom of hardtop back to center of u-shaped bar. Dust cover is queen sized quilted mattress pad elastic edges come in handy for fit green nylon straps from days when I used pulley/chain fall here for extra piece of mind.
