I need to use my TR6 as a daily driver. I admit I really didn't think it through in that it rains a great deal here and I still have not managed to seal all the leaks with my ragtop. My question is are hard tops better at keeping water out of your car? I have thought about restoring a used stock hard top, but don't want to invest the time or money if it does not help this problem. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Kevin,

Without a doubt, my hardtop seals out water much better than my soft top. I find that the lip on the factory top tends to keep alot of water from running down, and in through the tops of the windows.

All my rubber seals for the hard/soft top and windscreen etc are less than 4 years old.

It depends on where you are detecting leaks....if your windscreen seal is old and cracked, and you have water pooling in the corners of your crashpad on the inside of the windscreen, no matter what top you use, you will still have the same issues.

Cheers,
Tush
