TR6 TR6 Grill

Tonight I was looking at a grill off of a 69 TR6 and noticed that the only part that was gray/chrome looking was the center section that runs all the way across and the piece on top and bottom were both black. I then looked at my grill on my 73 TR6 and saw that it was gray/chrome looking on the top bottom and center sections. This is something tonight I learned about my car while out in the garage messing around. So is this one of the many changes they made on the TR6 in 73?

According to Bill Piggott's Original Triumph TR4/4A/5/6, the Restorer's Guide , yes that was a change in 73, along with the silver wheel centers.

My 72's (CC80171UO) grill has bright top and bottom finishers.
