TR2/3/3A TR6 fuel gauge in a TR3?

The 3 is Neg ground and there is a voltmeter in the car that I could take power from. Is a stabalizer required or is this modification even possible?

I am sure a stabilizer will be needed - I do not know if the existing sending unit on the tank will need to be changed (but suspect it will).

I actually prefer the TR3 gauge (vs the one on my TR4 w/ a voltage stabilizer) as I can check the fuel level by just switching on the key for a moment - instant reading. On the TR4 I have to wait while the gauge slowly goes up to its final position.
