TR6 TR6 Frame Stiffener

Local TR6 owner was parked in lot when a guy came up and acting like a real expert said "Of course, you stiffened your frame"...
and went on to describe how he should have placed gussets or stiffeners at the midpoint of the frame to prevent sagging and problems with door shut lines. Anyone ever do this? Admittedly, the TR6 frame is not that robust as jacking it up from both ends will quickly prove, but is it really necessary to do this?
 
Sounds like a bit of a blow-hard…

A TR6 frame isn’t terribly strong and most owners know that jacking one up with the doors open/removed can result in damage. My car is on its original frame which has required repairs (trailing arms and usual trouble spots) but no special modifications to stay true. Seems like noise to me…
 
This if horse apples.(Mash reference). While it is too flexible it is not easy to "fix". My hindsight suggestion
to the factory(1960) when they went to the Tr4 would have been to stiffened up the sill/rocker assembly.
These ,when securely bolted to the frame out-riggers(likewise stiffened) would have gone a long way to
a stiffer platform.
Still working on the time machine(based on a Tr3 cause it makes me 18 again!)

I think the only absolute necessary modification to be done are the boxing of the differential mounts and the addition of the extra gusset on the lower control arm pick up points on the early frames. Some other modifications to the frame can help but are not “essential”.
