TR6 TR6 Frame and Body repair

I need to do some patching on the body and frame of my unfortunate TR6. Some areas they don't make replacement parts for, others are too small to warrant a whole new panel. Does anyone know the guage of metal to use when repairing either component?

I think the frame is only 16 guage (SWG16?), and it might not be a bad idea to go slightly thicker, especially if in a critical area.
I don't know the thickness of the body panels, perhaps you could measure at an edge?
