TR6 TR6 Floorboard Bolts

Can anyone tell me the specifications for the bolts that secure TR6 floorboards to the frame? There seem to be two different sizes.

The Roadster Factory and others probably have them but they are never specifically referenced in the parts diagrams in the various catalogs.

Thanks!

Bolts! You mean there are bolts down there? I thought with all the rattles that my car was a snap together piece.

Be aware of the fact that rust will down size a bolthead to where nothing fits at all. I have had luck migwelding a nut to the beast, hitting the underside with lube(your choice) and having a go with the impact. Sometimes it just breaks off , but I believe it would have in any case.

I guess I was lucky. The bolt heads were downsized due to rust but I was able to remove them with vice grips. None broke off.

I guess if no one knows off hand what sizes these bolts are, I'll try taking my old ones to a few stores and try running some nuts on to them. If I can find something that works I can then determine which bolts to buy. Just thought someone might be able to save me the aggravation.

Thanks.

Blacksummerrain,
Well after a trip down the garage I believe the 2 sizes of bolts are 1/2 inch and 9/16 inch.

I'm going to assume you meant the size of the head of the bolt, in which case they are 5/16" and 3/8" bolts, UNF thread. (5/16"x24 and 3/8"x24.)
Those are the same size body mount bolts as my GT6.

Thanks for the info BigBadBlueTR6 and Bugeye58. You've made my life a bit easier.

I've still got some cutting and welding to do to finish putting in some new floors. Then I'll be ready for the bolts. It's hard to get motivated to spend time in the garage in this New Orleans heat...

Thanks, again! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif
