TR6 TR6 exhaust paint....recommendation

There were at least two OEM suppliers of exhaust systems to Triumph: Harmo and Burgess are the two that I know of. I have seen original and replacement exhaust bits from both suppliers in (pretty much gloss) black and (somewhat flat) silver. It's certainly easy enough to find high-temp black engine paint (probably silver, too?)

Point of reference: I used to think that all Harmo systems were black...until I got two NOS early Herald rear mufflers a month or so back. Harmo brand, painted silver. For ease and convenience, as well as protection, one of those will get cleaned up and sprayed black before it goes on my Herald.

I just painted mine last weekend.....Gloss black tremclad rust paint....Had it out for a good hot run and it's still on there fine, I've painted some other exhaust systems like with that same paint, including my DD's and never had a problem with it burning off.

Thanks for the responses. Even though it started out as the aluminum/silver color I think it would look better black to blend in with the under carriage. So, the high temp paint isn't required from the muffler back?

Bill Hirsch stocks a whole line of super high temperature paints. web page

I just applied silver to my rusty exhaust manifold, and it looks great.
