Does anyone know the beginning and ending engine serial numbers for the 69 TR6? I am getting ready to buy what is supposed to be a 69 engine, but I need to make sure it is actually a 69.
Thanks, Kevin

Hi Kevin

Not sure about engine numbers, but the chassis numbers for 1968/9 production were CC25003L to CC32142L, with 1970 starting at CC50001L. As I understand it the engine numbers are pretty close - mine is less than 100 higher than the chassis number (that's a 1975 car, though). Someone may have the actual engine numbers, but I haven't seen them listed in any of the books I have read.

Hope that helps
Alistair

That helps a lot. I figured my engine was original because the car has been sitting for so long, but your information confirms that. My engine number is also less than 100 away from the body number. I was also able to figure out the engine I wanted to buy was actually a 69 because the engine serial number was less than mine but higher than the starting number Moss showed for the 69. One of these days I am going to get British Heritage certificate, but in the meantime, this helps.
Thanks, Kevin
