TR6 TR6 Dash knobs

Is there an easy way to remove the knobs?, such as the heater/defrost pull, the choke etc.

I'm thinking of just breaking them off as I have a new set?

Look on the bottom side of each knob, there is a small hole. There is a spring loaded pin in each hole. Use something with a small point (small phillips head screwdriver) and push the pin up into the knob, then pull on the knob, it should come right off. I've had stubborn ones that I did have to cut off using a dermel tool.

I've also had good success using a pair of small pry bars, with some wood lathing to protect the dash. The secret is to pry on both sides at the same time, so the force doesn't try to bend the switch shaft.

Seems like the plastic shrinks over time and grabs the shaft rather tightly. We had to spend some quality time scraping the hole in the knob larger (with a small flat blade screwdriver) to reinstall them.
