I'm having some electrical issues, and I noticed one of my fuses was getting hot, but not blowing. Can someone tell me the correct type of fuses I should have? What would be comparable with American fuses? Thanks in advance for your help.

Lucas 35 amp, or AGC 20.

The real issue is the poor connections at the fuse block.REPLACE IT !!!!Or just whine about Lucas
electrical bits(they hardly ever last more than 30 or 40 years)

My fuses were way to high - 35amp! They were in there when I bought the car, so I figured they were correct. I just happened to have the correct ones in my spares from my other LBC. I polished up the contacts and put on the of de-oxit grease suggested. Thanks everyone.

I think what you are dealing with is the difference in fuse ratings between Lucas and standard american fuses. From the above post, you can see the amperage ratings of american fuses are about half the number of Lucas. That apparently is because Lucas is measured differently. Therefore if you put an American fuse in there with the same number of the Lucas that came out you could overload the circuit and burn some wires. Also, in my TR7 I noticed that the Lucas fuses are longer, so the American fuses don't fit as well.

Then again, maybe you just need a good injection of Lucas smoke. I think Randall has the Lucas smoke injector kit. ; )

The hard part is coming up with the correct NOS smoke! Nobody makes it like Lucas used to.

It's out there...here's a pic of the correct stuff.
