TR6 TR6 Clutch Question

Hey guys,
I'm a newbie to this forum, but I already have a question. I just purchased the "magic clutch kit" from TRF with the Gunst Bearing. When I initially received it, my UPS guy left it out uncovered in a rain/ice storm. The pressure plate got a little surface rust, and after complaining to UPS, they arranged for TRF to send me another pressure plate.

Before I send the original plate back, I compared them and they look completely different. They both say Sachs type MF215 on them. One has flat fingers and the other has fingers that curl up in the center. On one, the edge of the fingers (in the ceter) are about 1/4" above the body of the pressure plate. On the other one, that same measurement is approx 5/8".

Dave at TRF said that the are both made to the same spec and that after attaching them to the flywheel, they will both have the same measurement. I installed the newer one and now the fingers are nearly flush with the body of pressure plate.

After all this, my question is: How much will the fingers/unst move when the clutch is fully depressed? It looks like there is only 1/2" clearance at most between the fingers and the hub of the clutch plate. Does that sound normal? I know its probably fine, but the differences just have me wondering. I hate to have to take it apart again down the road.

Thanks,
Bruce (The TVR guy)
