I am currently rebuilding a 72 TR6. Confuded onwhich rear bumper was original? I've found a bumper with the bar on top...is that correct? Don't really know how to describe it but it has a round bar that sits on top of the wrap around main part. Does it fit in front or rear on a 92 model? Also it needs re-chroming....suggestions??

Dan
That is an aftermarket Amco bar, early TR6's (69-72) would sometime get dealer add on bumpers bars on both front and back bumpers. You could also buy them as optional equip. They claimed it would help keep the plastic lenses from getting dinged or cracked. I liked them on early TR6s.

Hi Dan,

My 73 has the Ammco bars on mine on the front and rear. They are fairly rare and get a pretty good price on ebay when they come up for sale now and again. Some people hate them, but I tend to like them. I had mine rechromed when I had the bumpers done.

Hi Pied:
Is your '73 TR6 Olde English White? My '76 is a non-original Ford white but I really like the creamy look of the English white and am thinking about another repaint.
