OK, this part is one of four that came in a kit from Moss. I am assuming it is part of the anti-squeal setup, but I do not have a clue as to how it is attached.

I am guessing the end tabs fit under the pins, with the center bar extending over the disc pads toward the disk.

By they way, did you know that the calipers were originally red on a '73?

If I remember well, these spring are located on the top and bottom ends of the calipers. When in place, they put pressure on the pads to avoid ratteling?

Please correct me if I'm wrong so we could help this gentleman.

Thanks

Were these springs original equipment? When I rebuilt my '73 TR6 calipers, these springs were not there.

Ray........it might be worth a call to Moss to ask them where they go. Here's the link to the Buckeye Site where they give a detailed write up on rebuilding the calipers. Nothing like that in the write up. I also couldn't find that part in either the TRF Blue Book or the Haynes manual.

Thanks guys. The springs fit over the brake pads to hold the anti-squeal plate in place. (I think)

Ray,

You are correct. If and when those springs get broken the high pitched squealing starts along with the awful rattles when you hit a bump.

Ray, someone got to those calipers and did the bling thing. They were never red, like mine were never yellow, till now.

Maybe Brosky's were red....
