TR6 TR6 Aftermark wiring harness complaint

I installed a new wiring harness in my TR6 over the winter when the engine was out, eveything works now, which is GREAT. My one complaint on the new harnesses is the sockets for the gauges that have the round little finger that hold the socket in well those bulb holder are made of freaking Plastic, and the metal finger things end up pulling out of the plastic housing, I can get the round finger thing back in the plastic holder but it usually ends up coming out again. I dont have a solution like maybe gluing them in with JB weld??? I have the old harness with the metal housings but I am very reluctant to cut the new wires to put the metal ones in

anyone have suggestions?

Is the wire pulling on the socket? Usually it shouldn't take much at all to keep them in place.

Splicing in the old sockets sure makes a lot more sense to me than gluing things together. A decent "linesman's splice" with solder & heat shrink will be stronger than the wire and last forever. Plus you (or the next owner) will be able to replace the bulb, service the gauge, remove the dash, etc.

I was talking about gluing the round metal piece that has those fingers on it back into the plastic housing piece that the bulb screws into. not glueing the holder into the gauge

Sorry, I misunderstood. That makes the JB Weld approach more palatable; but I think I'd still go for the metal holders.

Have you talked to the harness supplier? They might have a solution, or at least pony up for some new holders.

I purchased the harness from one of the major parts supplier, I am sure didnt make it so not sure where that will get me, I could call and talk to them and see what they say, but in short it would still require cutting, and soldering the metals originals on
