TR4/4A TR4A top question

I am still trying to figure out how the top on my TR4A attaches to the car at the rear deck. I know the black thing in the picture attaches to the rear deck (or so it seems to me). What I don't know is what sort of bolts are used (are they chrome and domed or something else). Also it seems obvious that the webbing goes through the slots in the black thing but I don't know how the webbing is attached at this rear end (or to what, the black thing itself or the red car). There don't seem to be any holes in the red car for the webbing to be attached to. And finally how does the top attach to the balck thing (over it under it, with snaps or with glue etc). I am doing all this without the benefit of ever having seen any vistage of the orignal parts together, so please excuse what may seem like a trivial question.

the black metal piece bolts to the car, it should use a regular hex head bolt but as always a fine thread. The top webing is folded over a couple of inches and stitched, make sure you fold the webing at an angle so it will lay flat as it goes up to the top frame, and the other end is fed through the slit from the bottom and pulled through till the folded part pulls up tight to the underside of the black plate, the top will be attached to the black plate with snaps either screwed or pop riveted, I hope this helps
