OK - lesson learned about the radiator shield topic so I'm going to be very specific here. I am looking for ideas and alternatives to the Moss radiator duct, part #855-130, for my 1968 TR4A IRS. Yes, it is fiberboard. No, no welding required. Ha!

#99 below (notice the lack of weld attachment spots)

Seriously though, any ideas on other ducts to use? Any vendor have better quality offerings that the others?

Thanks!

I have a cardboard (don't think it is really fiber board) one from one of the big three (no idea which one). Since my car rarely sees rain, it has held up fine for many years.

Some say to paint the fiberboard/cardboard as it seals it as well as strengthening it. I'm going to fab one out of stainless for my 4A, if I ever get that far with my project!

A few coats of rattle-can paint will make them hold up much longer.

I don't know of anyone making them in better material, but you might try talking to Joe at A.R.E. https://www.the-vintage-racer.com/ He races a TR4, and if you can convince him there is a market, he might be interested in fabricating something in aluminum or SS.

Edit: Hah! I see Peter beat me to it, while I was looking up Joe's URL.

Moss sells a replica of the original. POS or not, it's what they came with from ST.

Or maybe sweet talk Francois into making one for the 4A and 4 - he has a pretty nice shroud for the TR6.
