Ready to put her on jack stands and realized I asked about the rear stands placement (thanks) but not the front. Is it better to put them at the cross menber junction or on the side member rear of the wheel?
JD

I have always thought that jack stands should be placed as close to the suspension points that hold the car up. Less chances of puting stress on the body.

It's best just rear of each front wheel, right on the frame, of course, and you'll find that to be about where that smaller support bracket heads up on a 45 degree angle to the spring turret.

Thanks guys, now that I have the from up I'm looking for a jack point for raising the whole rear, other than the diff, or that ok to use?
JD

Using the diff to raise the rear is fine. Do it carefully. You can also use two trolley jacks on each side of the rear if you feel better that way.

These cars are pretty light, so about any place on the frame is okay too, although the slanty rear parts have a tendency to slide on the jack or jackstands.

thanks all! She's up, though the front is a little higher due to mismatched stands. Used a 2x4 on the diff to slowly jack with no problem. Now all I need is time and a little warmer weather!
