TR4/4A TR4A Inner fender protectors

Anyone used those inner wheel well fender protectors (presume plastic or similar)to keep the muck getting to sensitive seams? Seen them in Rimmer (Gbp 107 per axle set) and VB ($69), though there may be other preferred sources. They seem intuitively advisable?

My 67 TR4A came with them and they are cardboard. My car is white with black interior so I think they look good as well as being protective.

Interesting. Were they a OEM stock feature or dealer option. I could not find it on the Standard Triumph sales brochure of the time (seen on an Ebay listing). I wonder if those now available are also cardboard, but nonetheless, it sounds as though you are a believer on both appearance and functionality
