TR4/4A TR4A HS6 Factory writeup?

I have a set of HS6's on my 3A engine, pulled off a TR4A. I was going to tinker a little with linkage settings and I realized that no manual I have even discusses the TR4A HS6 setup. Has anyone seen a factory writeup for them? I have a small SU diagram talking about initial jet setting, but I'd like to see what the factory said about linkages, like the choke cam/throttle clearance (or whatever you call it).

Sometime back someone posted a link to a SU booklet, complete for all SUs. I only printed out the section for the HS6, and it really doesn't go into tuning or adjustments. I can't find the link now, but here's another that might help.

I am still unclear on the difference between mine and yours, but the air filter couldn't be installed because the nut on the inside interfered with the choke linkage. I worked around it, but yours seem to not have that issue. And not that we are competing, but you are ahead of me.

When you decide to start on that underside -start with a pressure washer. I pressure washed it some time ago and thought all the grime was gone. Was I ever mistaken.

Interesting, I have HS6's on both of my TR4A's and went and checked my manuals and there's very little mention of them in in the Bentley(factory), Haynes or Autobook manuals. The largest mention of them is in the supplement of the owner's manual but nothing's given like the clearances you're asking about.

I can only guess that I adjusted them through trial and error.

Took me awhile, but I found it. To adjust the fast idle cam, have the engine thoroughly warmed up, and set the base idle to 850-900 rpm. Then pull the choke until it almost starts to move the jet, and set the fast idle to 1100 rpm.

This is from the Triumph Spitfire Mk 3 and TR4A workshop manual supplement, P/N 545048, 1st edition.

I should have guessed that you'd have the proper manual squirreled away somewhere - thanks! If that's a thin supplement, any chance a pdf is possible? I'll pay in beers at any time..

It's only 25 pages or so, but it's in a much larger pile of stuff to be scanned. So a PDF is distinctly possible, but probably not any time soon.

Sorry, looks like I goofed on the link. Try it again, you should now see a menu bar with 'File' near the upper LH corner. Click on 'File' then choose 'Download original'.
