TR4/4A TR4A Horn: 2 wires into 1 connector?

I have started to sort out the wiring on the 4A. Today, I was working on the horns. For the left horn, I noticed that the wires are doubled up, meaning there are two wires going into a spade (Lucar?) connector. This is for both the purple/yellow and black wires. Is this right?

I've been using the Advance Auto Wire diagram for reference (https://www.advanceautowire.com/tr24a.pdf) and it does not appear to read that way to me, but I am new at electrical work. The attached picture shows the wires. I had already removed the horn so I could clean it up and the bracket.

TIA,
Jeremy

If memory serves, that is correct, as one of the "doubled" wires continues on to the other horn.

I agree, its the same on the TR4.

If you page down in the referenced diagram (there are actually 4 diagrams in that file), I think you'll see two wires into the each connector for the first horn.

Thanks for your patience, guys. If you 180 Randall's image from the 4A diagram (which I was using :yesnod:), I can see that the left side doubles up.

So, is the correct connection to take the two wires, twist the bare strands together, and attach the connector? Everything is working so I am going to leave it alone if I can, but I want the connection to be correct.

I can send a picture later today of the exact layout of the horn wires. I still have the original horns/harness.

I rewrapped the outer cover twelve years ago but all the wiring is original as are the horns and connections. Here's the layout:

This forum and it's search function are great. I've decided to get our horns working after being disabled for a few years. They had a mind of their own, sounding at will, usually near a pedestrian who would wonder why I'm honking. Anyway, to start I wanted to assure the wiring was correct and my manuals didn't have a horn relay indicated in wiring diagrams for the TR4A. The first post in this thread referenced wiring diagrams that were correct allowing me to confirm my wiring was correct. They horns work fine when the ground wire from the relay to the horn button is grounded. I'll now review threads that reference wiring in the steering column.
