TR4/4A TR4A - grille to front valence

Making progress - I'm fitting the grille back on. The bottom fastens to the top of the front valence through two loops attached to the back of the grille. Should there be spacers between the grille and the body? I'm asking because the grille seems to sit back about 1/4" or so from the front of the valence, without spacers. It will flex enough to pull back against the valence but I don't think I want to pull it into tension.

If you mean the two attachments about 6" outboard of the crank hole I show no spacers. Mine grill is about 3/4" back from the downturn of the valence.

I figured it out, one of the tabs to which the turn lamp mounts had been bent forward and was holding the grille away from where it should be. Straightened that out and the grille sits where it should. I decided to put a nylon washer between the grille tab and the valence, just because I don't like putting bare metal up against fresh paint.

I really should get a camera.
