TR4/4A TR4A Gauge Mounting Question

I believe that they do. I did all of mine last year during my restoration and recall both the lock washers and the knerled nuts being used.
 
Certainly won't hurt to use lockwashers, even if they didn't have them originally.

My preference is to use "internal star" type lockwashers though, as I feel they do less damage to those unobtanium nuts.
 
I say "yes," and they can come loose. I reach up and tighten them from time to time. One of my threaded studs is so short I deliberately left the washer off.
