Has anyone purchased the o'ring fitting under the fuel tank cap. Moss does not carry it and knows not where to locate one. I will appreciate knowing who supplies them.

I've never bothered. But MMC sells all sorts of O-rings, including stock and kits to make your own to any size. That includes square and "double seal" (kind of a smooth X shape) cross-section.

I used a spare square o-ring from when I used canister oil filters -- I cut it & shortened it to fit and jammed it in. That seemed adeqaute to do its job. I would think almost any good O-ring of the correct profile could be shortend this way.

I used a piece of adhesive backed weatherstip sealing (foam, rectangular shape, cut to length) As I recall Roadster factory does have them, I thought they were pricey for what they were so I did a homebrewed fix with something I had lying around.

Thanks guys. Could not find the exact fit but I did use your oil filter o ring idea. Jamming it in was the most work! I had looked for the perfect o ring to keep the car more original, at least with a cheap parts.

Did you ever find this
Are you talking about the fuel filler cap/body ring (see part below) or inside fuel filler cap.

GROMMET, gas cap

I was speaking of the rubber seal where the fuel cap swings down against. I never solved the problem very well as it still smell fuel when the tank if full. Thanks for your input to my 2012 post!
