I imported a TR4a exhaust manifold into New Zealand off Ebay and managed to get the inlet manifold that goes with it.
I added the two pipe downpipe and the pipe just behind that pipe that brings it down to one pipe.
I've haven't started the engine yet after reconditioning it.
Unforetunately the pipe now runs along the chassis rail which must end up burning the underseal off the chassis and warm up the chassis quite nicely.
It also runs near the brake pressure switch which means that it will require wrapping to protect the switch.
My options are modify the exhaust yet again.
1. Put the old mild steel exhaust back including the manifolds.
2. Buy a strainless steel TR4 exhaust.
3. Buy a Stainless steel header then connect it to the old exhaust.
From what I've read the stainless exhaust doesn't have that nice deep growl the mild steel ones have.
What do other think of the stainless steel standard exhaust and or the headers.
Putting a 4a Exhaust on my 4 probably wasn't my brightest endeavour.
