TR4/4A TR4A door crash pad

Last winter I replaced the crash pad on the right door. I used Loctite spray contact cement. It looked great until the weather warmed up and the glue released. I am about to try this again, and was wondering what contact cement to use. I want a brush-on this time which should be easier in the window channel. I was thinking of trying Weldwood. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you
 
3m spray adhesive has been my go to for all my glueing. You spray booth surfaces, let it set up for 10-15 minutes then put it in place. Done properly, it'll stay there for a very long time.

Thanks, I'll give this a try. Gallon can seems like overkill for the project, but I really hate reinstalling the window seals each time I change the pad. Can this stuff be brushed on?
 
You should be able to buy it in much smaller cans and I use one of those cheap throw away paint brushes. Make sure both surfaces are clean and you want to wipe down with a good solvent like AcrySol or laquer thinner to get rid of any wax of release agents.

I used Dap/Weldwood contact cement in the Gel formula for the interior including dash replacement pad, carpets, sound deadner under carpet and seats and panels. It works like the original formula but does not run or drip from the brush. I like it so well that I am using it on my TR6. It has become hard to find and I think it might be discontinued which would be a shame.

I even used it for the door caps on my TR6.

Sorry, that was the industrial section, not consumer automotive. I was just trying to illustrate that there are a lot of choices, didn't mean to imply that was all of them.

The 8090 does appear over on the consumer automotive page (where it seems everything is "Super" :smile: )

Thanks for your replies. One more question- the crash pad is vinyl covered foam. Do I just glue the vinyl edges, or cover the entire area? Many of these adhesives do not advise use on foam.
