TR4/4A TR4A Dealer Installed Mirrors

Do these look like dealer installed mirrors? They were on our 67 TR4A when we purchased it and just noticed they are also two different styles. We are also looking for a matching pair of these if anyone has any available. The mounting holes are 3 1/4" center to center. Thanks

The right is similar to the drivers mirror on my 65 but still different. Also 3 1/4" center.

So far as I know there were no factory mirrors or official mirrors though those pictured look typical of what a dealer would install (odd that they do not match).

Mine (4" on center):

Twisted to that goofy position as it works best like that and doesn't stick out where it gets bumped.

I generally find a passenger side mirror to be fairly useless if the car is almost always driven with the top down (so easy to get a good look over the shoulder) and the drivers side mirror only helpful if it is mounted on the door rather than the wing.

Apparently, you got what ever was available at the dealership for outside mirrors. Both of mine came with fender-mounted bullet mirrors although my first car only had 1 on the driver's side fender. When I restored it, I replaced the bullet mirror with the Lucas-style fender mirrors as I thought the bullet mirrors were too large and detracted from the body lines.

There was a more or less "official" accessory mirror in the mid-1960s; from a 1966 accessories brochure:

Some of these even had a Triumph logo embossed on them.

The same mirror (sans logo) was also available from various suppliers:

Now if anyone happens to have one or more of these mirrors in good shape and would be interested in getting rid of same, do let me know!

Mine had one like the one on the right when I got it in 1980. Heaven only knows where it is now.. I might still have it somewhere. I put the bullet mirrors on there sometime in the 80's.
