Hi

Sorry if this has been asked and answered a million times before. Just looking for confirmation if either the 8-blade or 13-blade TR6 fans are a bolt-on upgrade for a TR4A?

I am thinking about the bolts holes to the fan hub as well as clearance to the radiator. It appears both fans may be available from the Big 3 as well as eBay. If "Yes" on the 13-blade model, is the fan-to-hub adapter from the TR6 necessary?

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

I have had a TR6 8-blade plastic fan on mine for a long time. Straight bolt on.

Hi Bob,
On my '64 TR4 I have the yellow plastic 8 bladed fan and for clearance with the radiator I needed to replace the fan extension piece with a TR3 unit which is an inch shorter than the TR4 nose piece. I don't know if there is the same clearance issue on the TR4A.

Mine fit without any modification. It is the second one I have fitted. I broke a blade off of the first one trying to rotate the crank by the fan blade. :frown:
