TR4/4A TR4A Chassis

Does anyone know of a company in the US that sources complete/refurb chassis?
My 4A has a pretty bad case of tin worm around the engine mounts, and although it can be welded, the long term solution when it comes to frame off, will be a new chassis.
I have found a couple of places in the UK that have them, but shipping etc makes for a very expensive rebuild.

Yep - and they're a supporting vendor of the BCF!

RATCO

Welcome to the forum - tin worm around the motor mounts? That's a new one to me, I'm so used to TR engines rustproofing everything in their vicinity I'd never seen rust issues in that area.

I've heard plenty of good things about the Ratco frames, they are top notch. If you are trying to save a buck and have patience keep looking at the Texas clubs / craigslist ads. Occassionally you can find a project car that could give up a good frame and be less expensive.

Thanks for the heads up - this looks like it may be the way to go.
BTW tdskip - what are you asking for your 4a?

The rust is just between the engine mount pylon and the front body mount on the inner side - can be welded but will need a new frame eventually. I have found one project car near you, but budget is dictating a fix for now.
Appriciate the information - I will have to keep looking and wait for the right one to come up.

Not much, under $1500, but she's got issues.

My frame is not rusty, but she got hit and tweaked the front frame section a bit. You'd be trading one frame problem for another. I'd look for something local.
