TR4/4A TR4 wheel identification - need help

Hi all:

This is one of the wheels that came on my new TR4. I am sure it isn't original as it is a 14 inch wheel, not a 15. Also, as far as I know, TR4 wheels have round holes in them, not slots. Do any of you have an idea what other LBC these might have come from? I am thinking Spitfire possibly, as the original TR4 hubcaps fit perfectly.

Thanks for your help.

Matt

I believe Spitfires had 13" wheels. Not sure about yours - Herald or Vitesse, maybe?

spits have a different bolt circle. Maybe a MGB - they have 14" rims and I think the same b.c. are the TR4 4x114.3mm(4.5")

all TRs (at least up to TR6) have 15" rims.7s and Spitfires had 13" rims. That is not a TR or a Spitfire rim. Possibly British as it has the same hubcap mounting posts.
could also be Saab,Volvo, Fiat, or one of the Japaneese companies that copied british designs in the 60s.
but definatly not Triumph TR (2-6) or MG

Early 6cyl Ford Mustangs also had a 4-4.5 bolt pattern. Could be 'merican too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
