TR4/4A TR4 Stromberg Floats

The foam float for the early CD175 Strombergs are listed as NLA by most suppliers (including Joe Curto). Are these prone to failure? Can floats cannibalized from spare parts carbs be used reliably?
Anyone know of a source of supply?

Actually I have a set of rebuilts plus a set of spares. I was just curious to know if anyone else ever had a problem with the floats. As they now seem unavailable, I wondered if the design was problematic. The ones on my carbs, both the rebuilts and spares look OK. As they appear to be solid plastic foam I wondered why this design was abandoned in favor of hollow plastic floats.
