TR4/4A TR4 Rear track bar pictures and info needed

I picked up a set of rear trackbars (torque rods)that I want to fit on my TR4A solid axle and need to fabricate the front mounting brackets. Trackbars prevent spring windup and resulting wheel-hop during hard acceleration.

Does anyone have pictures of the front attachment points at the front leaf spring? I have a few pictures but none installed on the car and none with the front bracket.

Once I get them sorted out I will share specs if anyone wants to build their own set.

Alan, you got anything on this?

I have drawings of the "radius rod: fixing arrangement" in a book called Technicalities Volume One published by The TR Register. It's excerpts from their newsletter. Radius rod is the British name for what we call traction bars on this side of The Big Pond.

There are no dimensions on the drawings, but you could probably figger something out for yourself. I could copy the drawings and snail mail them to you, if it's not breaking any copyright laws to do so. Or if you don't tell on me!

Peter-

I was watching those with keen interest - I think you picked up a good deal there. I asked about those front brackets when they were first posted and was told they'd be included with the sale - are you sure you can't get them cut off the frame for you as part of the deal?

Randy,

I've been bidding on these things for a few years and finally won a bid. But it's wait and see how they look. This seller paints over all rust with flat black and one thing I purchased from him previously was junk with a nice flat black paint covering. Personally, I'd rather see the rust and damage up-front.

I'll ask about the front brackets. Supposedly they're a shackle type bracket welded to the inside of the spring mount.

Still searching for all the info I can get.

Thanks!

Peter-

If you need the email saying they'd be supplied I can send it to you (not that it will help!). Edit: oops, looks like my wife cleared out our email so no luck there.

I also have the Technicalities info mentioned by John.

Just pm if interested.

Thanks Randy (and all),

Also checking out tractionmaster.com per a friends suggestion. They are the original supplier for torque rods for many cars.

I just received the track rods and parts and am very impressed. Nicely packaged and in decent condition for their age, despite the flat black and silver paint hastely applied by the seller.

I contacted Traction Master and they are still around and can provide replacement poly bushings - good thing as these as SHOT.

I'll post post restoration picture when I get them done. I think that they will definitely help me shoot out of the hole better tight autocross courses.
