Could someone please photograph for me where the radiator supports attach to the car on a long neck (early) TR4? I'm either missing some additional bracket or am blind (a distict possiblity) I just don't see how the supports attach to the (frame or body).
Somewhere... Yes I think so, but if I size everything up, nothing seems to work. All the angles and lengths are wrong and there is no clear picture in any of my books or manuals of how it's supposed to look when it's attached.
Hi Larry, No picture but thay bolt through holes in tabs on the cross tube that's above the steering rack. The cross tube is between the front suspension towers I believe. Hope this helps. Mike
MikeH is correct. There should be two tabs welded on the cross support tube. From that there are two adjustable braces that attach to the rad. You can see one pretty well in a picture at my web pages https://www.triumphowners.com/640 Look in the "Carbs, Engine..." gallery, I think the fifth picture shows one. The tab is right at the bottom edge of the picture. Note that there are special rubber mounting grommets and two nuts on that end of the brace, to allow adjsutment. The other end just bolts onto the rad at those two tabs.
I'm beginning to get it. My cross tube (which I had to buy on E-bay) has no tabs. It's looking like I might have to get these made and then welded to the tube I have.
