Hi all,
been away for some time but i have a question. I am considering swapping the rear live axle with something from north america-particularly the 7.5" ford from the mid seventies mustangs. some of these came with LSD and the mustang guys swap them out for 8.8's or 9" rear ends because the v8's are too much for the 7.5. Now i don't have 250hp+ so a 7.5 will be fine with 150hp.
To upgrade my triuph rear end-southwick axle conversion and lsd is $850 + $1500. The 7.5" ford rear axle assemblies can be picked up cheap since the mustang guys get rid of them.
Has anyone done this? Does anyone know if it will fit? Does anyone know how much they weigh?
I havn't measured one up yet but hope to compare.
Obviously i will need to change mounts etc.
