TR4/4A TR4 Interior redo???

Larry,

When I did the '59 TR3A years ago, it seems like there was thin foam on the originals..... at least I thought they were originals at the time. I would call Moss tech support, ask for Blaine, very helpful and very knowledgeable gentleman. If he doesn't have the answer himself, he'll get it quickly for you. I do seem to remember a spare set of those I had in a box though that didn't have foam, you could see the glue yellowed to the back of the vinyl. I do know that those were original parts.. of course this was late TR3A and it may have changed with the TR4. I know this doesn't help, but Blaine at Moss would know for sure.

When I did my TR4A interior about 10 years ago the kit from TRF came with 1/8" foam padding for the arches.

My '4 has the original interior and I can feel springy padding under there, 1/8" foam sounds about right.

On the '3 I used such foam... also trimmed the excess at the seam so that area would not have a bulge. Another (very nice) '3 I know of used several layers of old baby blanket.

When I redid the carpets in mine last summer, the arches had a spun white synthetic underpadding similar to the stuff used in hypoalergenic pillows. I do not think this was anything other than original

Hi There SCguy;

Yesterday; I was talking to a friend that has had his TR3A almost Forever!

We discussed your Question: He says Its not "Foam" but somesort of "Fabric" Mat`l. that he found under the Wheel Well Covers when He replaced his: But that was a TR3:

I suspect the Moral to this story; There definitely was something under those covers!

Regards, Russ
