TR4/4A TR4 Fuel Pump Rebuild

Hi All -- I'm rebuilding an original AC TR4 fuel pump this weekend. The kit provided two large rubber circular gaskets. One of the gaskets clearly fits the sediment bowl, but I'm at a loss for where the other fits. The sediment bowl gasket is slightly smaller than the other.

When I took the thing apart, there was no other gasket-- Could it be that AC had two sized sediment bowls and the kit includes one or the other? Anyone see this before?

Thanks!

Works for me but I have never done the rebuild.

I have encountered different sediment bowls but the diff was the depth rather than the diameter. Nevertheless you may be correct as I see no other need for the 2nd gasket.

Agreed. The second seal would most likely allow the one "kit" to be good for two similar pumps. Cheaper to pack an extra seal in each box than make two different packages up.

A kind of "One Size Fits All" solution.
