TR4/4A TR4 Exhaust Manifold

Eastwood offers a nice "natural steel" heat paint. I've used it before. holds up well.

I used VHT rattle can high temp spray - aluminum. May not be stock but it turned out nice and tidy.

A TR4 exhaust manifold should be natural cast iron with nothing on it,rust and all.TR2 and TR3 are also the same. If you are doing a concours restoration it might matter. The main problem is that in the TRA and VTR the judging is not consistent as the people who think they know the most, wouldnt know a correct car if it ran them over.If your car is a driver, use grey or black. Both look good.Concours-Purple with yellow stripes might do. To win ,the car doesnt matter, but a brown nose does.

I'm sure the VTR and TRA judges are as well-schooled as they can be. Being willing to put one's butt on the line as they do, and being open to criticism is not fun, I'm sure.

When I was at VTR in Rockford, with my '57 TR3 that I entered in Participants' Choice, I was told by one of the judges that I should have entered it in concours. Very knowledgeable guy, that. Not because he flattered me, but because he showed me where those who were in concours were "flawed" and mine was not.

Let's cut them a break!

John:
Seeing your TR2 on the cover of Hemming's Sports & Exotics should have diluted your grudge you still seem to carry toward TRA and VTR.
