Hello, I am trying to trace the whereabouts and the owner of TR4 Dove that was exported from U.K. In the 80's or 90's that was last known in Houston ? My best buddy over here bought it in about 74 to restore, but never did. Then when he was moving it to another garage, the trailer rolled over on the freeway and crushed the roof. He sold the reck to someone who was going to convert it back to an ordinary TR4, but many years ago thought he saw a photo of it in Houston ??? My buddy had the original registration documents that he sent to a guy in USA, but we think he had already sold the car on ? When the car was in the UK it was powder blue, but now it maybe green ? Any help would be great. John

Do you have a commission number? That's about the only thing that would be of any use. Most US states will not give out owner information, but you might get lucky and find that one of the several Triumph clubs in the US has the car listed.

You might start with the Texas Triumph Register (based in Houston) and the other Texas chapters of the Vintage Triumph Register, and VTR itself, via web site and/or social media such as Facebook. Here's a link to the VTR Chapters in Texas: https://vintagetriumphregister.org/vtr-chapters/#tab-1394086136373-4-5

Perhaps this is the car:

I've not seen it in person but the owner is or was a long time Texas Triumph Register member. I heard he moved out of the area but our club membership guru may be able to provide you contact info. Send me a private message with your email if interested and I will try to get more details.

cheers
Randy

No help here at all, but I don't find the Dove particularly attractive. Kinda ungainly looking...I know, heresy, but the MGB-GT looks much better.
