It's those wipers again.

I'm refurbishing the motor and wiring, and the manual says to remove the wipers and the "nuts" on the bezels--so I can also remove the wheel boxes from the interior/under side of the dash.

Of course, those chrome nuts, each on the outside, are corroded and frozen onto the housing of each wiper shaft. I almost damaged the car tying to loosen them, and when the nut on one finally turned it was actually rotating the entire bush housing that the shaft passes through. Any advice. This one has me stumped, and I'm inclined to forget doing anything to these wheel boxes. thx

They are probably the same as the ones on my MGB. I had to cut them in half with a hack saw, and of course pitch them. There was no other option with these.

At less than 3 bucks apiece... I wouldn't spend much time or risk damage to expensive bits -- cutting them off seems in order.

For those wipers, where do you see those bezel/body parts available? I must have missed them. thx

Got the same problem on my car; cut them with a hacksaw finally, but damaged the threads in the process, so be cautious!
Simon.
