TR2/3/3A TR3B Door Cables

Gentlemen:

I recently purchased a 1962 TR3B. Inside each door there is a cable that is used to open the door. The cable looks like a bicycle brake cable. It appears that one end of the cable should be anchored to the door near the check link, but the car doesn't have anything in which to anchor it. I checked the Moss US and UK catalogs, but can't seem to find any indication of the part(s) I might need.

Any suggestions?

Geez, that's something I never paid much attention to, but here's a (tantalizingly fuzzy) shot of the area:

Is there a hole in the lip of the opening that the cable goes thru with a stop on the other side? Maybe the pic will at least give you an idea where to look.

That's the way mine was. Just a hole in the lip, and a ball cast onto the end of the cable. To remove the cable, you had to slide the outer sheath off and then feed the inner cable through the hole.

OK, guys. At this point I'm referring to the part of the cable opposite of the door handle, toward the front of the door/car. It is there that it should anchor in a hole in the door?

Yes, that's right. Geo's photo is of an earlier 3A which had slightly different door construction (more wood); but the late 3A that I parted out had the same arrangement (and the same doors as your 3B).
