Hello, listers, I'm hoping one of you out there can help me with my dashboard wiring reassembly. I have a thin black wire, with 2 mounting lugs for the back of each speed and tach mounting bracket. Now, where does that black wire go? Right now, I have it attached to a thin black wire into the main electrical harness... do they both go to the main ground screw on the back of the gauge dash panel? Unfortunately, my cryptic notes are a little TOO cryptic when it comes to my wiring diagram, and the factory book is seemingly no help. Also, does it matter which way the wiper switch is wired? I guess I'll know when I fire her up, hopefully tomorrow...

Thanks in advance!

Best, Kevin Browne

The black wires are grounds for the guage lighting according to the wiring diagram. It doesn't show exactly where they go, but any convenient grounding point will work. It doesn't matter which way you wire the wiper switch, it's just a single pole single throw switch.

That should work fine. Yes, the usual wiring diagrams typically omit the ground wires.

As noted, switich doesn't care... the critical wiring is at the motor. Not sure 'fire her up' is the best euphemism for testing the electrics.
