TR2/3/3A TR3A - Wiper Motor Electrical Connections

Question: Does the windscreen wiper motor (Lucas DR-2)have it's own short wire harness which connects to the main wiring harness with bullet/barrel connectors? Or, does the main wiring harness connect directly to the motor terminals. My car has cloth covered pvc wire and screw type connections (pre-TS60000).

Thanks

The harness should connect directly to the motor, with spade terminals.

I can remember toiling over this one with my early TR3A - TS36131L. It had the old screw connector loom and it was different from the loom on my later TS64566L TR3A. One had three wires and the other two. On both cars it is part of the main loom. From memory the early car had two wires only, but the manual shows three. Sorry I can't be more specific than that, but don't be fooled (like me!) into thinking that the manual was right and the loom was wrong!

Randall, even if everything else is screw connections???
Might be a terminology problem; I mean this kind of spade terminal:

And yes, I'm talking about early cars with screw terminals . However, I'm not certain offhand when the wiper motor itself changed; at some point it went to push-on Lucar connections. In that case the harness still connects directly, but the harness has 1/4" quick connects instead of the spades.

Nick, unless your manual has 6 or more different diagrams, it's almost guaranteed to be wrong for your car!
The diagrams were updated in the 'Practical Hints' books, but I don't know of any other place. One of my background projects is to collect the complete set of diagrams, but I haven't gotten there yet.

This one should be close for Frank's car (but it might have the green brake light feed connected to the wiper terminal instead of the fuse block). Click on the thumbnail for a larger (downloadable) version.
