TR2/3/3A TR3A Windshield Disassembly

I brought the my windshield down from the attic storage today. I need to dissasemble it and get the parts to the plating shop. First time I looked at it in 6 years. I went through the manuals that I have and found no reference to the dissasmbly of it.

Any help, hints what do and what not to do and so forth would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Tinkerman

I watched the glass shop do mine when I had new glass put in but it has been a while.

If it is like my TR3 then there are some little flat head screws on the bottom near each of the side brackets and they should come out then the bottom frame should slide off then the glass can come out down ward.

:iagree: But it takes a fair amount of persuasion to first separate the bottom rail (which is held by two angle brackets and those 4 little screws) and then pull the glass from the remainder of the frame. I wound up using a block of wood and careful taps from a hammer to drive the frame pieces off of the glass.

And of course before you start on the frame, you have to remove the stanchions and plates (I assume you've already done that). Be sure to put the screws back in the right holes, it would be a shame to break the glass !
