My charging system was not working. I carefully followed the procedure to locate the problem. When it is time to adjust the maximum voltage of the regulator's coil, What is the functions of the top adjusting screw and the one of the back. I ralized that screwing the both clockwise has the effect to increase the voltage's threashold.

Can anyone explain me the exact usage of the 2 adjusting screws?

Thanks

The screw on top (with the slot & the lock nut) is supposed to be used to set the .015" gap between the armature (the moving plate) and the coil underneath.

Then the screw on the back adjusts the voltage. On my regulator, that screw has a spring instead of a locknut.
