Does anyone have a decent picture of how the line that goes from the master cylinder to the reservoir look like. All of the pictures that I have of that area are blocked. I know what the brake line looks like because I had an old one of those. It was a basic s curve. But I suspect the clutch line isn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The pipe on my early 1958 TR3A goes from the outlet of my master cylinder as shown. Your master cylinder should have this exit at about a 45 degree angle whereas mine is correct (vertical) for all late TR2s, all TR3s and the early TR3As. The pipe goes over the master cylinder for the brake then down behind and under the reservoir can. It sits flat on the skuttle and hugs the curve as it bends downward to the connecter bracket welded onto the frame where the pipe joins with the braided flex hose to the slave cylinder.

Note the clip that secures the pipe to the outer-most screw for the heater hose fitting on the bulkhead.

It's the outlet to the brakes/clutch that is straight up on early models, slanted on later models. The port that gets the line to the reservoir is always straight up, early or late.

Otherwise, Don & Pied have covered it pretty thoroughly. I'll add only that TRF sells the pre-bent reservoir lines separately.
 
Thanks Gents, the pictures help very much. One last question, the fittings sit fore and aft rather than side to side, correct? Is the clutch fitting at the front of the reservoir?

Thanks very much for your help, this thing has been giving me fits for about three weeks now and I'm really ready to button it up!

The fittings on my reservoir are basically fore and aft. The front one going to the clutch master. Just make sure that you get the reservoir in the right position, with the clutch line being fed by the small, inner part of the reservoir. Just loosely assemble everything for proper fit before tightening the lines and the reservoir bracket.
