TR2/3/3A TR3A Loud Buzz & Rear Axel

I have a 1960 TR3A, it has not been running until recently. When I first start it up, there is a loud buzz, which is not dependent on engine speed. After a little while, it goes away. When I listen to the engine, it sounds like it is coming from the generator. I was expecting the voltage regulator. Any ideas would be welcome.

Second question, it appears that my left rear wheel hub is bent. It cound also include the axel as well. Any one have an Left rear axel & hub lounging around?

Also, I am intersted in a right front fender. Mine, is welded to the front apron.

Thanks,

First thing I would do is pull the generator off for inspection. Check the mounting points as you remove it, then if the problem is not obvious, disassemble the unit & replace the bearings.

The rear hubs & axles are symmetrical, so either side will do as a replacement. But don't forget you need to check the shim pack as well.

And any unit "lying around" should probably have a new bearing and seal, which leads back to separating the hub from the axle (which is very likely how it got bent in the first place).

I don't have any advice to offer, but welcome! Good to see another SW Washington resident.

Just a thought: before pulling off the generator, how about just removing the drive belt and running the engine briefly to see if the noise goes away (just in case it's not the generator)?
